Welcome to Garden View Care Center at Dougherty Ferry

Garden View Care Center at Dougherty Ferry opened in southwest St. Louis County in 1999 and is the newest of our three private pay, locally owned care centers. Throughout the years, our one-hundred-twenty-bed Dougherty Ferry facility has become the first choice for many who seek assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, respite care or dementia care for themselves or family.

Our success is due to the fact that we offer resident-centered care in an attractive setting. We provide luxurious rooms and stylish, carpeted common areas that we refurbish regularly. Each day our residents have fun and enjoy life as they take part in a variety of interesting activities, amusements and outings.

We have always maintained a high staff-to-resident ratio. Many of the employees at Dougherty Ferry have been with us for over ten years. Our current administrator Genelle Gutmann joined our care team in 2001. Long-time employees who like what they do provide excellent care and service.

In recent years, we have adopted an activities based dementia care program, which has profoundly improved the lives of residents who suffer from Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. At Dougherty Ferry we are in fact fully certified through the Alzheimer’s Association of St. Louis to train people who care for Alzheimer’s patients.

Additionally, we have created sections within our care centers where residents with similar care needs are grouped together. We have a wing, for instance, exclusively devoted to dementia and another devoted to assisted living and rehabilitation. This contributes to a calmer environment for residents.
