Dementia and Alzheimer's Care
Dementia is a general term for a variety of brain disorders such as Alzheimer's that affect a person’s ability to remember, learn and communicate. In the early stages, a person afflicted with dementia may be able to live independently. As the disorder progresses, the ability to perform daily tasks dwindles.
Garden View Care Centers offer comprehensive and caring Alzheimer’s and dementia care in St. Louis and St. Charles Counties. We provide our residents more than just a secure building. At each facility, we have separate wings devoted specifically to those with dementia as well as staff who are certified in dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
Our activity based dementia care program runs seven days a week and helps residents stay healthy and be happy. Research has shown that regular, engaging activity slows the mental decline of those with dementia. Each day our dementia patients take part in a number of activities such as music, dance, arts and crafts and table games. They also enjoy day trips to various metro area attractions.
If you have a loved one showing the signs of dementia, call for a tour or request an in-home evaluation to determine the proper level of care needed. You can also attend one of our Transitions meetings to learn more about dementia brought on by Alzheimer’s disease.
